WE LOVE MOISSANITES!
THANK YOU HENRI!
It was the French researcher Henri Moissan who discovered the naturally occurring moissanite in a meteorite that had fallen to Earth in 1893. Although he assumed that these were diamonds, after some research he came to the conclusion that the gemstones had a different composition.
Although the two look incredibly similar at first glance, they actually have a different core. While diamonds are made of hard-pressed coal, moissanite is made of a mineral that is very rare in nature: silicon carbide. This is one of the reasons why our gemstone is produced in a laboratory. This allows it to achieve its ideal properties, has an excellent cut and a high degree of purity.
By the way, all pieces of jewelry with a stone size of 0.5ct or more are sent with the GRA certificate. All gemstones are therefore tested for size, clarity and cut and confirmed by the Gales Gemological Research Association.
